01 / Our story
Started on a factory floor in 2014.
Elena Vásquez and Marcus Feld met maintaining control systems for a contract manufacturer, where they spent their weeks flying between plants to diagnose failures that a cheap, well-placed sensor could have predicted. The tools to catch those failures existed — they were just scattered across incompatible hardware, brittle gateways, and dashboards nobody trusted.
So they built one stack that held together. The first Scitronix node was a vibration sensor epoxied to a pump in a Raleigh bottling plant; it called a failing bearing eleven days before it seized. That pump is why the company exists.
Today Scitronix is a team of control, firmware, and data engineers across three sites. We still design on the floor, we still deploy what we build, and we still measure ourselves by one thing: did the customer see it coming?
02 / What we value
Four rules we have not broken yet.
Field-first engineering
We design on the floor, not just the workbench. Dust, vibration, heat, and spotty connectivity are the default case, never the edge case.
Signal over noise
An alert you cannot act on is worse than none. We tune for the few that matter and ruthlessly silence the rest.
Own the full stack
Sensor, gateway, and dashboard are built to work as one. No finger-pointing between vendors when something drifts.
Stay after go-live
Deployment is the start of the relationship. We keep tuning models and swapping nodes long after the install crew goes home.
03 / History
How we got here.
- 2014Founded in Raleigh
Scitronix is incorporated; the first vibration node ships to a local bottling plant.
- 2016Edge Gateway v1
Our first gateway brings store-and-forward buffering to sites with unreliable links.
- 2018Austin hardware lab
A dedicated test and calibration lab opens in Austin; the fleet crosses 1,000 live nodes.
- 2020Insight platform
Launch of the Insight analytics platform with its first anomaly-detection models.
- 2022EMEA office
Scitronix opens in Eindhoven to support European deployments and partners.
- 2024Gateway v3
A new gateway adds LoRaWAN and 5G; the fleet passes 6,000 nodes across 19 countries.
- 2026Predictive GA
Predictive-maintenance models reach general availability across every sector we serve.
04 / The team
The people who sign off on what ships.
A small, senior team — most of us carry a pager for the fleets we helped deploy.
Dr. Elena Vásquez
Control-systems engineer; spent a decade keeping process plants running before co-founding Scitronix.
Marcus Feld
Embedded-systems architect who designed the first three generations of the Scitronix gateway.
Priya Nair
Leads sensor design and the Austin calibration lab; obsessed with enclosures that survive the field.
Tomás Keller
Owns the firmware and protocol stack that keeps data flowing through outages.
Aisha Rahman
Builds the anomaly-detection and predictive models behind Insight — and the rules that keep alerts quiet.
Jonah Okafor
Runs installs and commissioning; has personally mounted nodes on four continents.
